Suction robots are used to remove residues from the inner of pipes. This usually happens after pipe inner surfaces or weld seams have been machined by a grinding robot or corresponding impurities have been detected by a visual inspection.
The suction unit of the INSPECTOR SYSTEMS vacuum cleaning robots contains a suction nozzle, which is attached to a unit rotating along the pipe circumference. The distance between the suction nozzle and the pipe wall can be infinitely adjusted by a motorized radial feed. A video camera, which is aligned with the suction, allows accurate control and monitoring of the process.
In combination with the mobile drive unit a targeted suction respectively cleaning at any point in the pipeline is possible.
An integrated flexible pipe ultimately carries the sucked particles out of the pipe.
The robot technology and the qualified vacuum cleaning process are approved by different national / international companies and risk management organisations.
